Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm
The project is located in the Eastern Cape, South Africa and consists of 60 SWT 2.3-101 turbines with an 80-meter tower. deugro Denmark’s scope of work encompassed transport from China, Vietnam, USA and Denmark to South Africa.
A 30,000 square meter deugro project laydown area was established at the Port of Coega, including bulk civil works so that it would be able to handle multi-axle trailers and supply the required electricity, water and security services.
The project involved a total of 150,000 FRT and 17 ocean freight voyages, which were booked on a combination of full/part charter vessels. Site deliveries began as planned in July 2013 and required more than 700 heavy lifts and loads to site.
