The deugro Group has historically been active in Iraq
from the early 1960s. Due to the many transitions of this country, the
deugro Group founded a subsidiary named Iraki Overland Transport GmbH
(IOT) in 1977 to manage the Irak business as a separate entity.
Whilst IOT has been one of the few international companies to remain
continuously registered with the Iraqi State Organization for Land Transport
(SOLT), activities were limited since the first Gulf War.
IOT has subsequent to the second Gulf War been re-activated
with two people deployed into the region, stepping up IOT's activities from
previous UN "Food for Oil " shipments.
