The Near and Middle East has been one of deugro's prime
markets since many decades, a fact well documented by the picture below.

Technology evolved in a quantum leap since those days,
and in the new millennium it is not an unusual sight while driving in or near an
industrial area to have an encounter with a transport such as this:

For us in the Middle East nothing is too big or too small. The year is 2004, and
by the end of the year the deugro Group will be 80 years old. Analysts and
economic observers predicted the next boom in the Middle East at the beginning
of this millennium, and the management of deugro prepared well in advance to face
the upcoming challenges. This involved a reassessment of how to manage our
future operations, the restructuring of various offices in the Middle East and
the supporting countries, and the birth of our DMP deugro most promising
program, featuring the intensive training of a younger generation of management
candidates both at home and abroad, with a particular emphasis on the Middle
East.
The regional headquarters for the Middle East has been
shifted to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. From the center of the kingdom we are
administratively overseeing the activities of our offices in the
region.
